Two held for illegal hunting in Yachuli

Yachuli, 26 November: Taking action on telephonic information from the local Head Gao Burah of Ambam village, Pistana Circle, regarding the illegal hunting of wildlife and birds by two unknown persons, the Range Forest Officer Yachuli detailed three forest officials and staff to the spot and caught the two accused with the carcasses of wildlife and birds including Air Riffle, Air Pump, torchlight, casting net and Scooty Honda(bearing registration number AR01R 8534). Accordingly,  a case has been registered against the accused person(s) as per the relevant section of Wildlife Act 1972.

Further,  all seized carcasses were disposed off in the presence of Executive Magistrate and Circle Officer Sylvia Koyu, Officer Incharge, Yachuli PS Token Dubi, RFO Likha Obi and Forest officials of Yachuli Forest Range by completing all legal formalities.  

The first accused is reportedly from the Doimukh area, Rono Hills, Papumpare District who came to Ambam village to help his friends with fieldwork, while staying at the village they are said to have hunted wild birds and wildlife.  While the accused was supposed to go back around 1:00 PM, Forest Officials intervened with him and caught red handed with the carcasses of wildlife.
