Sadhu Mihu Elected Unopposed as Zilla Parishad Chairperson of Dibang Valley

Anini, 10 January : Sadhu Mihu, Bharatiya Janata Party Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM) from the Etalin–Maliney Block, has been elected unopposed as the Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) of Dibang Valley district.

The first meeting of the newly constituted Zilla Parishad, along with the election of the ZPC, was successfully held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Anini. Simultaneously, the selection/election of 21 Gram Panchayat Chairpersons (GPCs) was conducted in their respective jurisdictions under the supervision of the concerned Member Secretaries.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner, Dibang Valley, Bekir Nyorak, congratulated all the newly elected Zilla Parishad Members. He administered the oath of office to the Panchayat Members and exhorted them to work collectively for the welfare of the people and the holistic development of the district. He further advised the members to familiarize themselves thoroughly with the guidelines governing their roles and responsibilities, and assured them of full cooperation and guidance from the district administration, including all concerned officers and Heads of Departments.

The entire election process was conducted in a smooth and meticulous manner under the supervision of the DPDO-cum-Member Secretary and SDO (Anini), Lijum Ete.

Oath-taking ceremonies and distribution of certificates were also conducted in other Panchayat Blocks of the district, administered by the respective Returning Officers Hibu Dindie, Pemiya Mikro and Raju Pulu.

Dibang Valley district has a total of 4 Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs) and 71 Gram Panchayat Members (GPMs).
