Naharlagun, 28th October : The Artisans’ Movement 2025 to promote sustainable fashion, youth engagement, and local entrepreneurship under the banner of ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Viksit Arunachal “.

The One Arunachal NGO has officially announced the 3rd Arunachal Fashion Week – The Artisans’ Movement, scheduled for December 2025, as a tribute to Arunachal Pradesh’s weavers, artisans, and designers. This year’s edition carries the message of empowerment, sustainability, and creative pride, a movement that celebrates the state’s vibrant tribal identity through fashion.

“The Artisans’ Movement is our effort to shift the focus from glamour to grassroots from runways to the real hands that weave our identity,” said Shri Joram Tat, Chairperson, One Arunachal, and Chief Organizer of the event. “Every thread spun in our villages carries a story of tradition, skill, and self-reliance. Through Arunachal Fashion Week, we want to give those stories a national stage and show that fashion can be a force for livelihood, culture and pride.”

He expressed gratitude to Shri Nyato Dukam, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industries (Industries, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Textile & Handicrafts, Trade & Commerce & Sericulture), and Dr Mohesh Chai, Hon’ble MLA-cum-Advisor to Hon’ble Minister of Health & Commerce, for their unwavering support and guidance in shaping this platform for Arunachal’s youth, artisans, and creative entrepreneurs.

Aligned with Har Ghar Swadeshi, Vocal for Local and Viksit Arunachal, the event promotes local textiles, sustainable craftsmanship, and indigenous fashion narratives, aiming to strengthen the creative economy while preserving traditional artistry. Since its inception, the Arunachal Fashion Week has become a launchpad for emerging designers, models and artisans, fostering youth engagement and local entrepreneurship.

This year’s lineup features six major designers representing diverse districts and tribes – Pura Aniya from Ziro (Lower Subansiri) of A Dressmaker; Osum Jerang from Kaying (Siang) of Sum’s Tribal Fusion; Jyoti Dada from Tirap of JD Collections; Gimi Yamang from Kra Dadi of Gimi’s Design; Opet Litin from Yingkiong (Upper Siang) of Litin’s Creation; and Joram Nampi from Joram (Keyi Panyor) of One Arunachal. Each of them merges traditional motifs with contemporary design, giving a modern voice to Arunachal’s diverse cultural fabric.

They will be joined by designers Leeza Bagra, Siang Yangada Jumter Angu, Liya Elapra, Metam Veo, Mina Rattan, and several weave designers from across the tribes of Arunachal Pradesh, including specially abled artisans, showcasing inclusivity and innovation. “By calling them Weave Designers, we acknowledge their creative intelligence and their vital role in shaping Arunachal’s identity,” added Shri Tat.

At its heart, the 3rd Arunachal Fashion Week, The Artisans’ Movement is more than a
fashion event, it is a cultural declaration. It celebrates indigenous creativity, empowers
artisans, and positions Arunachal Pradesh as a growing hub of craftsmanship, culture, and
sustainable innovation.
