Anini, 7 November : The Dibang Valley District celebrated the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, honoring the timeless patriotic hymn that symbolizes unity and national pride.

The District Administration marked the occasion at the DC’s Office, attended by the Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Heads of Departments, officials, and members of the public. The SP Office, ITBP, Indian Army, and various schools also observed the day with enthusiasm.

Across the district, schools organized special morning assemblies featuring the group singing of Vande Mataram, followed by talks highlighting its historical significance and role in India’s freedom struggle. Literary and cultural activities such as essay writing, painting, and quiz competitions on themes of patriotism and nationalism further enriched the celebration, inspiring students with a deep sense of pride and unity.

In Etalin Circle, the event was led by Miss Pemiya Mikrow, Circle Officer, and witnessed participation from students, officers and officials of the CO Office, PHC Etalin, SJVN Office, GBs, SHGs, personnel from ITBP and BRO, shopkeepers, and members of the general public. The ZPM Etalin and GPCs also joined the event, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and patriotism.

A particularly touching moment came when the Athunli 680 MW Survey Team, engaged in fieldwork since October 22, 2025, took time off to join the celebration—symbolizing their enduring commitment to national pride and unity. (DIPRO)
