Itanagar, October 11, 2026: The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has approved the creation of 20 posts to operationalise Women Helpline-181 and five posts of Food Safety Officer to strengthen emergency support for women and food safety enforcement in the State.

The Women Helpline-181 scheme, approved in accordance with Mission Shakti guidelines, is a toll-free, round-the-clock service intended to assist women facing distress and emergencies.

The helpline connects women with essential services, including medical care, shelter, legal aid, emotional support and guidance. The creation of 20 posts is expected to support its operationalisation and improve access to timely assistance.

In another healthcare-related decision, the Cabinet approved five posts of Food Safety Officer, Group B, Gazetted Non-Ministerial, to address manpower shortages in the State’s food-law enforcement machinery.

The additional posts are intended to strengthen food safety monitoring, improve enforcement and protect public health.

The Cabinet also approved an enhancement of grade pay for different categories of posts under the National Leprosy Elimination Programme (NLEP) in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

The decision aims to address wage parity concerns, improve staff morale and productivity, and strengthen patient care and rehabilitation services.

These decisions form part of the State Government’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery, strengthen public safety and expand support services for vulnerable sections of society.
