IMC holds Swachhata Pledge at KV No 2

Itanagar,27 September : In continuation of the “Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign,” the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC), led by Mayor Tamme Phassang, conducted a “Swachhata Pledge” event at Kendra Vidyalaya No. 2 here on Friday. The initiative aimed to engage students and staff in a collective commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.

During the event, Mayor Phassang administered the pledge, urging students to actively participate in the cleanliness movement. “You all are the future of our state , and have the responsibility to keep the city clean and promote hygiene lies in your hands,” he stated. He further emphasized that the movement should not be a one-time event but rather integrated into daily routines, encouraging students to raise awareness within their families and neighbourhoods.

Reflecting on the enthusiasm and commitment shown by the Kendra Vidyalaya No. 2 students, Mayor Phassang expressed optimism for the future, stating, “The commitment of our students and youth reassures me that our future is bright. I extend my gratitude to everyone involved for making this event a success.”

He also appreciated the contributions of Principal Vinay Kumar, thanking him for providing a platform to spread awareness about the critical importance of sanitation and hygiene.

Corporator of Ward No. 1, Lokam Anand, also spoke at the event, appealing to both students and their guardians to contribute to maintaining cleanliness in the city. He said, “Our campaign will only be successful when everyone gets involved and gives equal contribution.”

Principal Vinay Kumar expressed his appreciation for the IMC’s efforts and committed to supporting the campaign. He encouraged students to uphold the pledge and ensure that their surroundings remain clean and green.

Meanwhile, Mayor IMC, Corporator Lokam Anand  distributed the awareness  Comic Book “ Chacha Choudhary & Swachh Arunachal “ with refreshments to the students . This event marks a pivotal step in promoting cleanliness and hygiene in Itanagar, reinforcing the collective responsibility of the community to foster a cleaner environment.
